Physiotherapy
The treatment of disease, injury, or deformity by physical methods such as heat treatment and exercise rather than by drugs or surgery; also known as physical therapy.
Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy
Pelvic floor physiotherapy refers to rehabilitation of those muscles which are involved in bowel/bladder function, sexual function and stabilization of the pelvic region in men and women. A Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist performs the assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor muscles. This includes evaluating bladder and bowel habits and reeducation as needed. This treatment is becoming more established in the literature as a first line of defense against incontinence and pelvic pain. Pelvic health can be impacted by pregnancy, abdominal/pelvic surgeries, traumatic injuries, muscle strain, and postural/hip/low back issues.
Vestibular Physiotherapy
Vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) is an exercise-based treatment program designed to promote vestibular adaptation and substitution. The goals of VRT are 1) to enhance gaze stability, 2) to enhance postural stability, 3) to improve vertigo, and 4) to improve activities of daily living.

GLA:D PROGRAM
We are implementing an existing evidence-based program called, Good Life with osteoarthritis in
Denmark (GLA:D) into clinical care in Canada. While some people have access to self-management
programs for OA, these programs often provide only general exercise guidance and education. In
contrast, GLA:D integrates patient education and targeted, personalized exercise for people with hip
and/or knee OA. Importantly, the exercises are taught so that you learn to incorporate them into your
everyday activities so that you are able to easily continue to manage your OA symptoms and remain
more active.
The GLA:D program includes education, the exercise program and collection of information about the
outcomes of your participation in the program. Collection of this outcome data allows us to monitor
how people are doing and the benefits they achieve with GLA:D participation so that we can monitor
the quality of the program.

ADHD Assessment
ADHD rarely occurs on its own. Often other mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and learning disabilities are also present. It is important to get a complete picture when being assessed. However, if attention problems are the primary concern and it is very clear that academic skills or mental health are not impacted, there may not be a need for a full psychoeducational assessment. In this case, a thorough ADHD assessment would be recommended, which rules out cognitive, medical, or mental health reasons for attention concerns.
Reading, writing, and math skills would not be assessed in this type of assessment, which reduces the time and cost of the process, while still offering the most informative and clear diagnostic picture. If learning needs to be differentiated, a psychoeducational assessment will be more appropriate and would be recommended.
Symptoms of ADHD may be reassessed at any time in one’s life, to determine the effects of treatment, age-related change, and other interventions, or to offer updated recommendations and accommodations (e.g., high school goals, post-secondary accommodations, workplace accommodations).
